What’s on your promotional and marketing calendar for 2018? Are you planning ahead for all the opportunities that will be coming your way in the new year?
Whatever type of business you run or represent, and whatever industry you’re in, you can develop creative events and promotions based on the traditional holiday calendar, established events, and other less known occasions. Consult the calendar at the beginning of your planning, and see what’s planned for 2018. In the U.S., you have Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, the 4th of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving, etc. (You’re probably saying to yourself, “That’s obvious!”) But, if you’re looking for more creative tactics, consider linking your marketing and promotional plans to more obscure holidays – like “National Popcorn Poppin’ Month” that took place earlier this fall, or other holidays and events that make sense for your business. Whatever you decide to do, be sure you’re considering the appropriateness of your plans for your business/industry and for the customers you serve.

Or you can search online for free listings of recognized events. With a little creativity, the possibilities are endless!
